Free People Bath: Signage and Window Graphics Project
Northampton Signs recently completed a bespoke signage project for Free People Bath, bringing the fashion brand’s distinctive identity to its new location on Old Bond Street. The project involved creating and installing exterior lettering, branded window graphics and decorative glass manifestations, all designed to complement the building’s traditional architecture while introducing Free People’s contemporary retail identity.
Bespoke Shopfront Lettering for Free People Bath
An important part of the project was the installation of bespoke three-dimensional lettering across the store’s exterior fascias. The FREE PEOPLE lettering was finished in dark bronze, creating a subtle yet distinctive appearance against the building’s light-coloured frontage.
The non-illuminated letters were individually mounted using discreet fixings and spacers, giving the signage a slightly raised appearance. This approach added depth to the lettering while maintaining a clean, minimalist finish.
With the shopfront featuring traditional columns, decorative architectural details and prominent entrance features, careful positioning was essential to ensure the new signage complemented the existing building rather than overwhelming it.
The project also included updating the building’s existing entrance numbers to match the dark bronze finish, helping maintain a consistent appearance across the exterior.
Branded Window Graphics and Decorative Manifestations for Free People Bath
Alongside the exterior signage, Northampton Signs worked on the store’s glazing to introduce additional branding and decorative details.
White self-adhesive vinyl lettering featuring the Free People name was applied internally to the shopfront glazing, providing further brand visibility at street level.
The glazing also featured decorative frosted manifestations with a repeating Dabu-inspired pattern. These subtle designs added visual interest to the glass while complementing the store’s overall aesthetic.
The combination of understated lettering and carefully positioned decorative graphics helped create a cohesive shopfront that reflects Free People’s individual style.
Working with Bath’s Traditional Architecture
One of the key considerations for the Free People Bath project was ensuring the signage worked effectively with the building’s existing architectural features.
Located on Old Bond Street, the premises feature a traditional façade with prominent columns, classical entrance details and decorative roof features.
Our team carefully considered the positioning and fixing arrangements for the exterior lettering, making adjustments following the site survey to suit the building’s structure.
This attention to detail helped ensure the signage was securely installed while preserving the character of the existing frontage.
