Signage in Muenster for Urban Outfitters
We are pleased to showcase our recent international project for Urban Outfitters at their new store in Muenster, Germany. This project involved a comprehensive signage journey, from early promotional graphics to illuminated permanent signage, helping the brand establish a strong and distinctive presence on one of the city’s busiest high streets.
The project began during the construction phase with the design, production and installation of hoarding graphics across the storefront. These graphics served a dual purpose. They promoted the upcoming Urban Outfitters opening while discreetly screening the work taking place behind the scenes. This approach ensured the site remained visually engaging and on-brand throughout the build period, maintaining interest and anticipation leading up to the launch.
Once the store was ready to move into its final stages, we manufactured and installed the main outdoor fascia signage. The 3D lettering was produced using chicken-wire glass and internally illuminated with LED lighting. This combination created a striking visual effect, allowing the signage to stand out clearly within the surrounding retail environment. The illuminated letters provided strong visibility both during the day and after dark, helping the store command attention along the high street.
In addition to the fascia, an illuminated projection sign was designed and installed to further enhance visibility. The projection sign featured two faces painted in a soft beige finish, with “UO” and “Urban Outfitters” lettering precisely cut from each side. The lettering was raised from the background panels to allow halo illumination from an internal light sheet. This subtle lighting effect created depth and ensured the sign remained legible and eye-catching at night, even within a busy streetscape.
This project demonstrates the importance of combining thoughtful design with high-quality materials and precise installation. The completed signage in Muenster reflects Urban Outfitters’ brand identity while ensuring durability, clarity and impact in a prominent retail location.
